Post 199 TTS “Text to Speech” Software

Yesterday I downloaded and tried a couple of TTS “text to speech” software programs and ended up using NaturalReaders After I downloaded them I realized that my Toshiba laptop also has a text to speech program that has a better voice quality than the free downloads and it's automatically added to the free software.

What I like about TTS is that I’m using it to edit my e-books. I’ve read and re-read and edited the material so often that I mentally go past any mistakes in spelling or grammar without being conscious of them, but when I hear the words being spoken, especially by another voice, then I pick up on the errors in grammar, or where the wording is confusing. I can also edit the work right there in the program and then have it repeat the phrase. It’s going to be a real help…
