Post 608 Dream and time shift reality

2010 Feb 23 My daughters babysitter had a doctor's appointment on Monday, and Marian, with her broken arm wasn't able to care for Nyah, so she asked me if I would babysit from 8:00a.m to noon and I said I would.

Before I went to bed on Sunday night, I set two alarm clocks for 7:15 a.m. as I didn't trust my portable one. I awoke to both alarm clocks making their unique sounds and I reached over and turned them off. Having been startled out of my sleep, I lay back to collect myself before getting up, but in the next moment, I snapped myself out of my slumber as I realized that I had left myself no time to snooze. I checked the clock and it now showed 7:32 a.m. Now I felt rushed…

I raced to get dressed and washed and then made my way upstairs to get some breakfast. I put the coffee on and was beginning to cook some porridge when I realized that it was darker than normal. I checked the clock on the stove and it said 6:37 a.m. Puzzled, I went back downstairs to my bedroom and checked both alarm clocks; both showed the time as being 6:38 a.m.

I then realized that my awakening to the alarm clocks, and then dozing off and waking up at 7:32 a.m. was actually a dream, and that there was exactly a one hour difference between my dream and reality. Although I was up early, I was also relieved as now I could enjoy a leisurely breakfast and even have time for a brief rest before going to babysit…
