I visited Marian while she was in the hospital and a couple of times I was briefly overcome with the smell of the hand sanitizer that a couple of visitors had put on their hands just prior to getting on the elevator. On the day I went in to pick Marian up, it seemed like every nurse on that floor was rubbing this shit over their hands. I began feeling light headed and began to cough to the point that I was beginning to gag. I was also stumbling and weaving as I made my way to the third floor elevator. A couple of nurses came over to me and asked me what was wrong. I told them and one looked sympathetic, while the other snapped back that it kills germs. I snapped back with gasping breath that it can kill more than germs, that this is a hospital, to help and heal people, not a Nazi chemical lab to injure or kill them. I told the nurse at the front desk that I would wait for Marian outside. I waited outside in the fresh air and It took a few minutes to clear my lungs and head, and to be able to walk in a straight line. I was careful driving home.
